It has been quite the summer of celebration! This weekend entailed the first wedding of the season - my very own maid (never matronly) of honor, Lynn tied the knot, and we had my little nephew's first birthday party.
The wedding was just beautiful. I was definitely the crying bridesmaid. I started from the time she put on her dress, and then continued crying throughout the entire ceremony. I am so grateful for Maybelline waterproof mascara, without which my makeup would have been running down to my silver shoes. I couldn't help but think back to our high school days when Lynn and I used to sit at the 99, scarfing down buffalo chicken sandwiches after field hockey games wondering when our lives were going to start. Somewhere along the way, I guess they had. Life's funny like that....creeps up on you.
And speaking of life, or new life for that matter, I was very lucky to attend an amazing, safari-themed birthday party, complete with visiting giraffe. There was also a blow-up water slide set up in the backyard and I think Kevin was a little disappointed he didn't bring his swim suit. My nephew is the most adorable little man in the universe, but as his auntie I may be a tad biased.
I am also quite excited to have a visiting baby over to my house today! As if my clock wasn't beating like a drum already. I'm sure somewhere down the line I'll be writing a baby blog...
